The House of Gaunt was once a prominent old and wealthy family in the wizarding world. They well-known as a pure-blood family and one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. Benedictus Gaunt and Célestheia Gaunt were the children of Zagreus Gaunt and Myrcella Gaunt. Both of the Gaunt sibling goes to Hogwarts and sorted in Slytherin.The wealthy Gaunt Manor was located back at West Sussex a country in South of England. After graduate, the sibling decided to pursue their career at Hogwarts School Wizardy and Witchcraft. The word gaunt is defined as "haggard, drawn and emaciated" and "bleak, desolate". Gaunt may also derive from an ancient Celtic goddess, Gontia ("Guntia" in Latin), whose name, according to some historians, was adopted for the city of Ghent, said to be "her patron village".
